When the .NET generic domain name extension was first introduced in 1985, together with the first domain name extensions on the Internet, it was planned to be used by Internet Service Providers or infrastructure entities. Given that there were no specific regulations about the usage of the TLD, though, .NET domains were reserved and used for different purposes and by many people. This TLD represents a perfect substitute of .COM, notably if the wanted domain with the latter extension is not free for registration.
Ordering a dot NET domain name with our firm is as easy as a breeze and takes just a couple of minutes, considering that we work with an ICANN-accredited registrar firm. You can obtain such a domain for a period between one and ten years, or, if you already have a domain, you can move it over to our firm and we will renew it when the transfer process is done. Transfers are available for all domains, which are at least 60 days old, given that they are unlocked and that you have an EPP transfer code – security measures set up by the .NET Registry against unauthorized transfers. You can easily modify the WHOIS contact information of the domain through your Control Panel interface, or, if you don’t want this info to be public at all, you can buy a Whois Privacy Protection service, so no one will be able to see your real contact info.
The .NET TLD supports internationalized names, so you can pick whether you want to concentrate on a specific country or zone using a domain name in the local language, or the global web community – using a generic English name.
